Viet Nam received US 30.2 million in climate change response ( 18/03/2020 )
The Green Climate Fund has just approved a US 30.2 million grant for the project "Enhancing the resilience of small-scale agricultural production in the face of water insecurity due to climate change in the Central Highlands and South Central Coast region of Vietnam” (SACCR).

Accordingly, the project will be implemented within 6 years. More than 222,400 people in Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa provinces will benefit directly.

In addition to investing in climate resilient infrastructure, the SACCR project will support small-scale farmers connected to irrigation systems developed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Next, the project will organize training courses for farmers to practice smart agriculture to adapt to climate change, how to build a small business plan ...

Reportedly, the Green Climate Fund is the world's largest fund dedicated to climate finance, supporting developing countries to reduce carbon emissions and enhance resilience to climate change. Vietnam is a member of the Fund.
